Latino Luncheon consiga $4,500 para becas por estudiantes

El Latino Luncheon, un grupo profesional, pudo reunir $4.500 para becas por estudiantes latinos de West Chester University.

El evento fue durante viernes, en la noche, en Barnaby's de West Chester, y para $30, cualquier pudo disfrutir comida, bebidas, y musica. Casi todo del dinero de los boletos era para las tres becas que el grup pudo crear este ano. Cada beca cera de $1.500 para estudiantes ya en la universidad o para estudiantes en la prepa que iran a la universidad. El ano pasado nadamas pudieron apoyar dos becas.

Casi 150 personas fueron este ano, y con tanto apoyo de la comunidad, el grupo espera segir este evento en el futuro.

Latino Luncheon apoyando estudiantes de West Chester

El grupo de profesionales Latinos, el Latino Luncheon, esta apoyando estudiantes hispanos de West Chester University.

Si tu tambien quieres ayudar estudiantes, pueden comprar boletos para una noche de comida, musica, bebidas, y mas en Barnaby's de West Chester. Boletos son $30, y el ano pasado el grupo pudo crear dos becas de $1,500.

English Edition: Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers partners with La Comunidad Hispana


Cheri Rinehart, president and Chief Executive Officer, of Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers (PACHC) gave a presentation to the members of La Comunidad Hispana staff this month on the assistance her organization can provide to LCH clients.

“This is a wonderful resource for LCH,” said Margarita Queralt Mirkil, President and Chief Executive Officer of LCH. “PACHC is there to help us. They will offer valuable services.” LCH is a member of  PACHC.

PACHC is the state’s primary care association and represents and supports the largest network of primary health care providers in the Commonwealth.  The network of health centers includes community health centers, rural health clinics and other like-mission providers serving more than 600,000 people at more than 200 sites in underserved areas throughout the Commonwealth.

Established in 1981 as a private non-profit organization, PACHC was formed by and for community health center programs. PACHC programs and services are designed to strengthen, promote and grow health centers in today's complex and constantly changing health care environment as well as support Community Health Centers in their mission to provide quality primary care to all, regardless of ability to pay.

English Edition: New Vice President of Development of La Comunidad Hispana


Erin S. Dallago is the new Vice President of Development of La Comunidad Hispana.

“LCH is a growing and expanding organization and we’re going to need Erin’s expertise,” said Margarita Queralt Mirkil, President and Chief Executive Officer of LCH. “Erin has a wealth of experience.”

For the past two years Dallago has been Director of Development at Planned Parenthood of the Northeast, Mid-Penn & Bucks County. She has also worked for Rodale Institute as Development Coordinator, Chester County SPCA as Director of Development, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as Development Coordinator and Berks County Youth Center as Correction Consultant and Administrative Assistant.

Dallago was educated at Reading Area Community College and Alvernia College and received professional training in fundraising at Villanova University.

English Edition: Free vaccines given to adults by Chester County Health Department at La Comunidad Hispana


The Chester County Health Department will give free vaccines to those adults who are uninsured or underinsured at La Comunidad Hispana in Kennett Square. 

The vaccines available are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Pneumococcal, HPV, Shingles, MMR and Varicella, and are scheduled monthly through September.
 
The vaccines will be available from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Health Center at LCH, 731 West Cypress Street, Kennett Square.
 
The days the vaccines will be available are:
·        April 11
·        May 9
·        June 13
·        July 11
·        August 8
·        September 12
 
            No appointment is needed and for more information call the Chester County Health Department at 610 344-6252.
