Volunteer Opportunities Available in Southern Chester County

While we traditionally write this blog in Spanish, we also want to include readers who, although they might not be fluent in the language, are still interested in the Hispanic community of Chester County.

Recently, I was working on an article where I had the chance to speak with a volunteer from the St. Rocco Center in Avondale.  She teaches citizenship classes there, and mentioned the hard work of her fellow volunteers, who either aid her or teach other classes, such as English as a Second Language.

If anyone is interested in contributing their own skills as a volunteer at St. Rocco, feel free to contact them at (610)-268-3365 to find out more information.
La Comunidad Hispana is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of services to the Hispanic community.  Their office number is (610) 444-7550.  You can also find more information about this outreach group at their website, www.lacomunidadhispana.org.

Do you know of other organizations like these in Chester County or Southeastern Pennsylvania?  We'd love to hear about them and feature them to our readers!
