English Edition: ¡Vive Tu Vida!

KENNETT SQUARE - Family fun and important information on healthy living will be the focus of the second annual ¡Vive tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving! event sponsored by La Comunidad Hispana on Oct. 6.
 
The celebration is free and open to the public and promotes family physical activity and good nutrition for better health and wellness for people of all ages. The national event is known as the premier annual physical activity and Hispanic family health celebration. Kennett Square is one of 10 communities hosting the event this year.
 
“At La Comunidad Hispana, we encourage families to take an active role to improve their health and we support families making healthy choices. We believe events such as this one provides the tools that lead to healthy lifestyle changes. Last year’s event was well-received and we expect a great turnout this year,” said Margarita Queralt Mirkil, Executive Director of LCH.
 
The family health and fitness fair event features tennis clinics by the United State Tennis Association, soccer clinics, Zumba and dance instruction, nutrition and health education, and healthy cooking demonstrations. Free flu shots and health screenings will be available. The screening include blood pressure, kidney disease and HIV testing.
 
The event takes place on Saturday, October 6, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Anson B. Nixon Park, 100 Waterworks Drive, Kennett Square. Participants will be eligible to register for the National Alliance for Hispanic Health’s Buena Salud® Club. The club promotes healthy lifestyles and proves guide books on family health issues.
