English Edition: getting ready for Election 2012

There's been a lot of news about Pennsylvania's Voter ID Law recently, so for any citizens wishing to partake in their civic duties, here's a little information:
- Voters will be asked, but NOT REQUIRED, to show an acceptable photo ID on Election Day. If you do show an ID, it must have a current expiration date, and the name on your ID must substantially conform to the one on your voter registration card.
- Acceptable IDs include photo IDs issued by the US Federal Government or the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a Pennsylvania driver's license or non-driver's license photo ID, or a valid US passport.

For a complete list of acceptable photo IDs, please visit www.votespa.com.

If you do not have one of these IDs, and want one to vote, you are entitled to get one for FREE at a PennDOT Driver License Center. To find the Driver License Center nearest you, and learn what supporting documentation you will need to get a photo ID, visit PennDOT's Voter ID website or call the Department of State's Voter ID Hotline at 1-877-VOTESPA.
