English Edition: La Comunidad Hispana hosts training classes in Spanish on Food Safety Certification in April

La Comunidad Hispana is hosting a food safety certification training class in Spanish. The ServSafe® class in Spanish is being administered by Penn State Extension.

The course has been developed to train food service managers, chefs, caterers, cooks, health officials, and food processors that need food safety certification.

LCH will host the training class on Thursday, April 11 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. An exam will take place on Thursday, April 18 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. LCH is located at 731 West Cypress Street, Kennett Square

This certification demonstrates that the food handler has up-to-date information about food safety and a commitment to provide safe food.  Safe food handling practices protect customers, help increase profitability, reduce liability, maintain patronage and enhance the competitive position of the business. The ServSafe Food Safety Certification Training fulfills the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requirements that each establishment employ a certified food handler.

The $175.00 registration fee covers the cost of the instruction with a Spanish-speaking instructor, book and educational materials.  For more information please contact Maria Gorgo-Gourovitch at 717-394-6851 or by email to mag38@psu.edu.  Please register early to ensure your space in the class.
