English Edition: La Comunidad Hispana names healthcare executive Alisa Jones as Chief Operating Officer


La Comunidad Hispana has named healthcare executive Alisa Jones as its Chief Operating Officer.
            “We’re excited to have someone with Alisa’s experience join us in an executive position at LCH,” said Margarita Queralt Mirkil, President and Chief Executive Officer of LCH. “Our organization is expanding and her help will help us as we transition LCH in the coming years. She has a wealth of experience in all aspects of healthcare.”
            Jones has a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University and a Master of Public Health from San Diego State University.  Early on, she was a medical assistant and health educator.  Jones spent several years as a consultant to Community Health Centers including San Ysidro Health Center in San Diego, California, where she focused on work-flow analysis and continuous quality improvement activities.
She continued her work with the University of California as a lead instructor in their HIV program and then took on responsibility for operations management of the Evaluation Unit of the Division of Community Pediatrics at the university.
Most recently Jones has been both Bureau Chief and Section Chief for the Delaware Division of Public Health where she has been responsible for multiple health promotion/disease prevention programs in the area of cancer, diabetes and other chronic illnesses and has served as the Maternal and Child Health Director for the Division.
Jones who lives in West Grove is bilingual and has published several papers on HIV related topics. She will begin duties at LCH on Monday, March 11, 2013.
